What you can do:

  • Keep a special "medical visit notebook." Write down questions whenever you think of them, then be sure to bring the notebook with you to your next appointment.   • If you experience flu-like side effects, your healthcare provider can offer advice or prescribe additional medication to relieve your symptoms.
  • Tell your healthcare provider if you have:
    • A flare-up (relapse)
    • Persistent flu-like side effects
    • Injection difficulties, including injection-site reactions
    • Symptoms of depression
    • Questions about any of your medication
    • Other ailments or conditions that may affect your multiple sclerosis treatment
    • Yellowing of the skin or whites of the eyes
  • Follow your healthcare provider's instruction about how to take your medication, and discuss any changes you would like to make in your injection schedule before you change it.
